About the Journal
Jurnal SeniRupa Warna was first published in December 2009 and stands as the first scientific journal established within the Faculty of Fine Arts, Institut Kesenian Jakarta (FSRD IKJ). The name “Warna” (which means “color”) was chosen with the consideration that color is one of the fundamental elements in fine arts, possessing a strong and distinctive character in the creation of artworks. The dynamic spectrum of color, which often provides artistic surprises in a work of art, is inseparable from the initial concept behind the establishment of Jurnal SeniRupa Warna. This spirit is well-reflected in the journal's thematic choices and the selection of scholarly articles, which are adaptive to the evolving phenomena and critical discourses in the field of fine arts.
In its development, Jurnal SeniRupa Warna. achieved an important milestone when it was accredited at Level 5 based on the Decree of the Director General of Research and Development Strengthening, Ministry of Research and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, No. 36/E/KPT/2019.
